  • We provide objective, scientific information on environmental challenges and opportunities through our four part mission of research, marine animal rehabilitation, education and conservation. We are helping the science community understand and potentially restore economically and environmentally important populations of threatened and endangered species such as the Steller sea lion, northern sea otter, and the Steller's and spectacled eiders. The SeaLife Center is also the only facility in Alaska that is designed to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned or injured sea mammals -- and Alaska is a state with more coastline than the rest of the United States combined. On a
