  • Innovative Silicon (ISi) was founded in 2002 by Pierre Fazan and Serguei Okhonin after the initial development of a new ultra dense semiconductor memory technology exploiting the floating body effect of SOI devices. This technology, presented first in 2001 at the IEEE International SOI Conference, received a tremendous echo in the semiconductor community and was awarded the ¡°Best Invention of the year¡± status by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL). In 2003, Innovative Silicon received the best start-up label from the Swiss Innovation Promotion Agency (CTI). Funded by leading European and US Venture Capital firms, the company raised its
