  • The Cleveland Music School Settlement was founded in 1912 by Almeda Adams with the support of the Fortnightly Musical Club and several of Cleveland's leading families. With growing interest in the Settlement movement, Miss Adams started the school to provide high quality music education to students of all ages regardless of their ability to pay. Over ninety years later, the founders would be pleased to know that CMSS is now one of the largest community music schools in the country. The original mission was expanded to offer a variety of arts related programs to a diverse student population. Programs beyond
