The Role

Reporting to the Vice President of Talent Management, you will be responsible for building a world-class recruiting function that gives AMN a competitive edge in the marketplace and delivers top talent. You will manage a team that includes a Senior TA Manager in Dallas, and teams of recruiters in Dallas and San Diego. The team consistently has a large number of open requisitions and a continuously flowing pipeline of new requisitions.

In addition to overseeing the day-to-day activities of the teams, you will put strategic focus on two key areas. The first will be preparing the talent acquisition function to handle a significant increase in volume as we grow. Your goal will be to think beyond simply filling reqs to envision a whole new process. For example, you will consider whether we are using the right tools, and develop strategies for building community relationships in key markets. The good news is recruitment is going on all over the organization, so one approach will be to see what is working and what you might adopt. Quick question for you - click here

The second area will be building relationships with your internal clients, executives in the various business units. As the ambassador of your team, you will handle escalated issues, and these relationships will help you de-escalate more easily. This also will help you sell your new model, which will be challenging -- the executives know recruiting and you will get pushback.

  • Strategic planning and the development of sourcing plans to support multiple businesses and needs, and leveraging social media best practices and identifying opportunities for digital media solutions
  • Oversight and execution of targeted recruiting initiatives

  • Serving as main point of contact for executive recruiting
  • Developing and managing the TA budget
  • Oversight and execution of targeted recruiting initiatives including third-party partner oversight
  • Defining, measuring, and communicating monthly metric results for all customer groups in order to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Monitoring recruiter requisition loading and balancing resources to appropriately meet customer needs

What's in It for You

Influential role
You will own talent acquisition, acting as the liaison between your team and internal clients. Frankly, the team doesn't enjoy the respect that it should in the organization, and you have the chance to make your mark as you transform it into a best-in-class function.

Career options
History shows that if you invest in your role at AMN, we'll invest in your career. In this role you'll be able to showcase not only your recruitment expertise, but also your leadership skills and ability to deliver results -- all characteristics we look for when advancement opportunities arise. In fact, given our strong growth, we hire with an eye to the future, looking for professionals with career runway.

Great environment
Ours is a high-energy, fast-paced environment -- sometimes those coming from a hospital dynamic or from outside healthcare are surprised at how fast we move -- but, it's also a collaborative environment filled with good people who care about the work they do. You can feel good knowing that the service we provide is critical to the industry, but also to the team of people at AMN providing it.

Keys to Success

Respect · Passion · Continuous Improvement · Trust · Customer Focus · Innovation

These values are embedded in everything we do, and we invest in maintaining a culture that allows people to thrive and grow. We embrace a servant-leadership approach and we'll expect you to do so as well. This means modeling a positive attitude, promoting a high-energy atmosphere, and recognizing success. In place of inflated egos, at AMN you will find confident leaders who are committed to caring about the customer, staff, and the community.

You also will find that everyone takes a hands-on approach and remains willing to wear multiple hats, including those in senior leadership. You'll need the expertise and gravitas to interact effectively with other leaders, and willingness to push the envelope.

We'll measure your success in part on your ability to strengthen your team's credibility among company leaders, and establish a strong relationship for yourself. While the best way to do that is to deliver results, you'll also need to be proactive about "marketing" your department. To be truly exceptional, you will establish yourself as a leader and thought partner to other leaders.
