Job Description


SUMMARY: Responsible for the oversight of Clinical Nurse Managers, Triage, and clinical management/operations of Annapolis Pediatrics (AP). Works closely with the AP Leadership Team, CMO, and COO to create and support an environment where innovative care is provided to a continually growing number of pediatric patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management of Clinical Services• Oversight of ambulatory physician practices and Clinical Nurse Managers.• Assure implementation of patient care and quality assurance standards.• Plan, organize and evaluate clinical practice and educational activities; development and implementation of policies, goals and objectives and standards of nursing practice.• Integrate goals, objectives, policy, process, and procedures with departmental clinical staff; advise and assist with the establishment of priorities. • Development and implement in-service guidelines for orientation and staff development.• Encourage and provide opportunities for continuing education of the nursing staff. Participate in concurrent and retrospective evaluation of patient care consistent with the organization quality improvement program. • Human Resources Functions such as recruitment and retention • Prepare sites for successful clinical surveys and inspections.• Create and maintain department policy and procedure manual. Oversight of vaccine supply and ordering.

Regulatory/Accreditation • Acts as the lead participant on all appropriate AP Committees (Quality, Regulatory, etc.)• Maintain compliance with Federal and State regulations regarding affirmative action, safety, and patient care.• Develops and maintains appropriate clinical standards policies, procedures, and training manual, protocols, guidelines, check lists, etc.• Performs periodic review and revision of P&Ps. Acts as expert resource in up-to-date clinical standards and educate appropriate staff on changes and updates.• Oversight of CLIA Certification Process.• Works to carry out change, and implement initiatives such as population health, Patient Centered Medical Home, and other or new activities.• Responsible for the training of use in, assessing, implementing, and evaluating strategies for the management of patients around a provision of care plan.• Develop and implement goals and objectives which include the establishment of standards of practice in patient care consistent with national professional and regulatory guidelines.• Initiate, plan, analyze, and participate in nursing staff development programs and workshops.Other • Develop access to appropriate patient education resources and collaborate with clinical leaders and members of the health care team to make resources available to patients.• Acts as primary investigator for patient complaints / issues with provider and clinical staff.• Assist with usage of the electronic medical record (EMR) for all clinical staff.• Integrate mission within clinical services responsibilities.• Develops plans as necessary to ensure the successful operation of the facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:• Previous nurse management experience.• Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience with demonstration of progressive clinical competence, preferably in an outpatient setting.• Demonstrated leadership and management skills including personnel management and the ability to perform as a role model for nursing staff.• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a manner that fosters teambuilding and to provide visionary direction for team members.• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with administrators, physicians, peers, and subordinates.• Experience with change management process.• Evidence of successful implementation of initiatives positively impacting patient care.• Knowledge in electronic health record (EHR / EMR).
