ORGANIZATION
Archbold Medical Center is a growing regional healthcare system that operates four hospitals, three nursing homes, a behavioral health facility, home health agencies (which include home health and hospice services) and a network of clinics and facilities in a 16-county area of south Georgia and north Florida. Archbold employs more than 2,500 people and partners with more than 200 qualified medical staff specialists.

Medical Center facilities are accredited by the Joint Commission. John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital (in Thomasville, GA) is the Medical Center’s largest hospital with 264 beds. Other Archbold hospitals, also in Georgia, include Brooks County Hospital in Quitman, Grady General Hospital in Cairo, and Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla.

Since 1925, Archbold Medical Center has provided high quality, patient-focused healthcare in a cost effective manner. Archbold’s dedicated staff and advanced facilities have helped the organization maintain an excellent reputation.

SERVICES
Archbold Memorial Hospital is home to the Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center (including Trilogy and the region’s only Gamma Knife non-invasive, precision brain surgery program), the R. Charles Loudermilk, Sr., Heart and Vascular Center (home of Georgia Trend’s highest ranked Coronary Intervention program south of Atlanta), the Southwest Georgia Dialysis Facility and the only Level II Trauma Center in south Georgia. Archbold also offers some of the least invasive surgical treatment options available in our region. The daVinci robotic surgical system provides an effective, minimally invasive alternative to both open surgery and laparoscopy.

The Medical Center offers a wide array of services ranging from the area’s only aquatic therapy rehabilitation program to a unique Women’s Center for diagnostic services, and South Georgia’s only comprehensive Bariatric Weight Loss Program, featuring Lap-Band® weight loss surgery. Patients also benefit from advanced technology like telemedicine, digital mammography and an in-house PET scanner.

COMMUNITY
Thomasville, GA is a “micropolitan” town just 30 minutes from the Florida state capital, Tallahassee. Once a weekend-getaway spot—President Dwight Eisenhower was known to play golf at a local country club—Thomasville still sports a small-town feel. Lush oak trees and quaint Victorian houses dot its landscape, home to roughly 20,000 (40,000 in Thomas County). The city is amenity rich; a newly revitalized, brick-paved, downtown includes an eclectic mix of restaurants and high-end stores. U.S. News & World Reports, Consumer Reports’ and USA TODAY have featured Thomasville as an ideal community for retirees looking for the good life in small places. Thomasville’s beautiful downtown is also a recipient of the the Great American Main Street Award.

Thomasville is also a great place to raise a family. The town offers several public and private school options as well as a number of higher education alternatives. Programs and opportunities in the visual, performing and literary arts abound along with outstanding sport recreational facilities for children.

Thomasville is less than two hours away from Gulf Coast beaches and four hours to Orlando and Atlanta.
