The Requirements

To be a good fit for the VP of Sales & Marketing - SaaS Software opportunity, you will have:
  • A track record of success in solution-oriented sales, preferably with software and/or services, and ideally with SaaS solutions.
  • Solid experience at the executive level in sales or business development, including the ability to:
    • Establish, monitor and manage to performance metrics.
    • Develop and implement processes and procedures.

  • Solid skills with MS Office products, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A down-to-earth approach and the ability to establish yourself as a trusted consultant.
  • A detail orientation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
You also will need to be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.

The Role

Reporting directly to the President, you will oversee a team that will be determined in part by the skills and experience you bring. Your overall mission, of course, will be to grow sales. We'll look to you to assess our current organization and processes, and then build on strengths and address gaps. We are looking forward to your ideas, and we've also identified areas that you'll want to address:
  • Ensuring we have performance metrics in place to monitor the effectiveness of team members and strategies.
  • Clarifying expectations, holding people accountable and promoting a culture of ownership.
  • Optimizing processes and procedures to improve efficiencies and production.
  • Coach the sales team in tactics and strategies to both win new customers and to expand existing accounts.
Your specific responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and implementing strategies to expand sales of all solutions in target markets.
  • Providing goals and targets for each team member and coaching them to achieve and/or exceed them.

  • Promoting collaboration across departments and functional lines.
  • Ensuring your team:
    • Builds, manages and follows through on sales pipelines effectively.
    • Focuses on establishing long-term relationships with customers.
    • Documents activities appropriately and creates regular reports and forecasts.
  • Conducting market and competitor research and adjusting strategy accordingly.
