Job Description

Los Angeles based plastics manufacturing company needs a motivated, results-driven Sales Manager to lead our sales department. The Sales Manager will understand what motivates customers to buy and know how to tap into those needs and desires in an effective way. The Sales Manager will be responsible for leading an experienced team of Sales Associates. If you are competitive, financially motivated and capable of teaching your strategies to a team, we’re excited to talk with you. Blow molding sales experience is a must!!!!

Sales Manager Responsibilities and duties:

  • Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of our company’s relationship with them
  • Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies and programs to capture key demographics
  • Monitor customer accounts across all domestic sales channels and develop ways to penetrate new markets
  • Provide in-house support for sales associates as they generate leads and close new deals
  • Work with sales associates to keep account activities and literature up to date.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly reports of department goals and objectives.
  • Manages the sales team which includes the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the sales team. Responsibilities include, hiring, training employees, planning, directing work assignments, budgeting and problem resolution.
  • Coordinate and attend Trade Shows
  • Capable of traveling 30 to 50 % throughout the USA
  • Marketing and Advertising
  • Hire, train, and lead sales representatives.
  • Direct distribution of product or service.
  • Develop and follow up on business leads.
  • Cold call, direct email, and perform other lead generation activities.
  • Manage team of sales and customer service representative.
  • Assign sales territories, set sales goals, and establish training programs for the organization’s sales representatives.
  • Advise the sales representatives on ways to improve their sales performance. Create prizes and other incentives for sales reps to meet their goal.
  • Maintain contact with dealers and distributors.
  • Analyze sales statistics gathered by their staffs to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and to monitor customers' preferences.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Travel to different locations to make sales calls.
  • Attend and preside over sales meetings.
  • Maintain reports.

Sales Manager Qualifications and skills

  • Excellent negotiation skills; computer competence; and team player with positive outlook.
  • Strong decision-making abilities
  • Competent Mathematical Skills
  • Problem solving – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions, works well in group problem solving situations, uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

Education and or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field,
  • 5+ years’ sales experience
  • 3+ years in leadership sales position
  • Plastics experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in lieu of education
  • Track record of superior performance metrics
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong decision-making abilities
  • Able to travel
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite
