Job Description Application System Analyst

Position Description
CGI Federal is looking for an Application System Analyst to design, create and execute manual and automated tests of web-based application. The focus will be to ensure that the product owner’s requirements are being met by the development team. The Application System Analyst must have understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) processes.


Your future duties and responsibilities
The Application System Analyst will work directly with development teams and client staff to verify that acceptance criteria have been met and that the products suitable for its intended purpose.
Responsibilities include:
• Maintaining communication with development teams, technical leads and product owners
• Tracking user stories and tasks in the Scrum agile workflow system (JIRA).
• Functional testing of new features
• System testing
• Automation of test cases
• Reporting test results and defects



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 5+ years developing complex web applications include Java (JEE 5,6,7) JSP/JSF/IceFaces/Grails and Selenium
• BA or BS in a business or engineering related field desired
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to engage with clients and work with multiple development teams
• Extensive experience with manual and automated functional test creation and testing.
• Experience working in an Agile environment, specifically Scrum, and be able to structure user stories
• Experience with automated test development and tools such as Selenium and JMeter.
• Demonstrated competence in analysis and problems solving principles with emphasis in user relations, data gathering techniques and management information applications
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
• Detailed-oriented with proven time management and organization skills, with a demonstrated ability to achieve results.
• Desire to learn new tools and technologies and to assist team members as customer requirements change.
• Experience compiling wireframes and specifications.
• Possess the ability to plan for user testing and execution and analyze metrics.
• Must be familiar with visual design.
