Job Description Business Analyst

Position Description
Supporting CGI proprietary software, Momentum, and client related business processes, including ongoing O&M support for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Budget, and Reporting modules. Typical tasks include system testing in support of troubleshooting and identifying resolutions to client issues, accounting cleanups, month end and annual close support and testing, budget reorganizations, and reporting support (Pentaho and BIRT). In this role, the member will work directly with the client to determine solutions to business case issues. Mentor junior members. Direct collaboration and communication with the client, requirements gathering, identify solutions to complex issues. Contribute and/or oversee add-on tasks, such as new interfaces, major report modifications or new reports, and/or new software modules. Support and coordination of small and medium-sized tasks/projects that fall within the scope of the contract, issue resolution, business processing support within the core financial system, business process redesign (as needed), testing, and client training (as needed).


Your future duties and responsibilities
1. Evaluating and resolving issues submitted by the client
2. Deriving test cases, scenarios, or scripts.
3. Perform system testing for new functionality and existing functionality as necessary. Assisting with regression testing, and automated testing efforts.
4. Provide User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support for the client to assist in issue analysis and resolution.
5. Review, analyze, and develop documented solutions to any ad-hoc requests.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
-CGI's proprietary software Momentum, > 3 years
-Microsoft Excel
-Strong understanding of SDLC and prior experience doing upgrade/implementation work.
-Strong communication (written and verbal) skills are required and must be able to interface well with the end-users and client up to senior management levels.
-Ability to multi-task, guide team member and client expectations appropriately.
-If in the DC-metro area, must be able to travel to client site located in Washington DC for onsite support or required client meetings. This is typically expected only a few days a month.
-Some after-hours support may be needed for client production cycles such as month-end or annual close processes.
-Must be able to pass a CGI background check to start employment.

-Data Analysis
-Financial Analysis
-Testing
-SQL
-Experience working across different teams (Functional, Technical, MCR, Baseline, ETP, etc.) and organizations (ex. GIS or other BUs) within CGI is a definite plus.
-Experience with Momentum Core Financials, particularly in areas of Budget, GL, Credit Card, and Accounts Payable highly desired. Knowledge of custom interfaces also desired.
