Position Description

We are looking for people with federal government compliance or financial industry expertise, analytical capabilities and an innovative mindset to solve problems.


Your future duties and responsibilities
The Business Subject Matter Expert will be required to develop strategies and plans for a variety of compliance and operational improvement initiatives.
• Develop detailed plans describing what steps the client could take over time to: improve the use of data, identify where it makes sense to request more data once the effectiveness of the existing data is proven and identify opportunities to transform capabilities over time
• Survey and analyze current compliance efforts; create, test and monitor potential new operational strategies to reduce fraud and create recommendations for future testing, case selection and treatment streams
• Provide key business input into the development of statistical models
• Translate client objectives and requirements to technical team members



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Experience detecting fraud in large and mid-sized firms in the federal government or private sector financial services industry using statistical modeling
• Private sector subject-matter expertise and experience in the areas of fraud prevention, identity authentication, asset optimization, collection and international banking
• Experience in leading comprehensive large scale process change from start to finish, including, change management, use of non-IT systems as well as complex and inflexible IT systems and communications
• Proven strategy consulting experience including development of problem statements and best-in-class approaches, identification of relevant data, analysis, planning and decision support, placing special emphasis on demonstrated ability to successfully assist the client in implementing strategies and quantifying outcomes by showing high monetary return or savings
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate the data analysis to a senior, non-analytical audience while simultaneously being able to work effectively with mid-level, operational managers and analysts on the same topic
• US citizenship or Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance required

Additional Requirements:
• BS/BA or advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, accounting, economics, finance or other technical disciplines
• 10+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience in financial analysis, transformation or strategic initiatives
• All work will be performed on client site in Washington, D.C.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
• Strong orientation to quantitative, data-driven analysis using statistic packages such as SAS (Modeler, Statistics, Text Analytics), STATA or SPSS, MATLAB, R
• Proficient in SAS reporting tools
• Demonstrated ability to successfully conduct complicated data analysis, especially data analysis using large and unintegrated datasets
• Understanding of Oracle databases, relational databases and unstructured data
• Active Public Trust Security clearance
