Job Description Systems Security Specialist

Position Description
CGI Federal is looking for Systems Security Specialists with experience in Federal or Legislative branch application hosting alternatives and a proven track record of at least one completed major application migration to the cloud and several minor application migrations completed to cloud/ hybrid solutions. Prior experience should also demonstrate experience with data storage, data networking, and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology.


Your future duties and responsibilities
Designs and develops information security architectures. Possesses a wide range of knowledge in design of security components and architectures Guides less experienced engineers. Capable of independent management of projects.


Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of relative experience (additional experience may be substituted in lieu of education)
Responsible for providing technical guidance focused on information security architecture.
Performs security research, analysis, and design for assigned client computing systems and the network infrastructure.
Responsible for working on security alerts, events, and security incidents, including forensic analysis.
Helps plan configuration changes for major security infrastructure platforms.
Implements, documents and may help develop formal security programs and policies throughout the organization and monitors compliance to these policies and programs.
Contributes general consulting (risk analysis) and project support in the area of information security to IT infrastructure and division computing projects as needed to support new business requirements.
Monitors trends in information technology and security that could have an impact on the security of the organization’s products, processes, infrastructure, or customers.
Experience in Federal or Legislative branch application hosting alternatives
At least one completed major application migration to the cloud and several minor application migrations completed to cloud/ hybrid solutions.
Experience with data storage, data networking, and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology
Up to 25% travel required

Desired
Professional certification in one or more of the following: VMWare, Citrix, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Active Directory
Experience with UNIX, Solaris, and Windows Platforms
Competency with connecting hosts to storage, multipathing, and managing Nimble disk arrays using iSCSI
Competency with managing and upgrading firmware and fabric migrations and consolidations using Cisco fiber switches
