The Opportunity: The Cyber Security Sales Engineer (SSE) is a key influential role that is part of a team responsible for the growth of our managed security services. In this role you will work within a diverse team and support early client engagement, opportunity shaping, solution design, and proposal development. The SSE is comfortable in both a consultative and technical sales environment.

Responsibilities include:
• Lead security pre-sales discussions with existing and potential clients
• Work in synergy with local teams to create close relationships and growth opportunities
• Lead presentations to both external (client) and internal (other CGI employees and teams)
• Work with clients to document their requirements, drivers and needs
• Define, design, and propose solutions based on documented client requirements
• Provide strategy leadership to solution creation and content development
• Technical writing and content creation for opportunity response (RFI, RFP etc.)
• Work closely with service evolution/product management to define existing service gaps based on industry and client knowledge, including involvement in the creation of new services
• Perform internal lunch and learn sessions to ensure internal teams are aware of our solution and service capabilities, including introduction of new services
• Subject matter expertise within Security Sales Engineering team in one or more services areas
• Participate and occasionally lead Proof of Concept activities internally and with clients
• Maintain awareness of trends in IT security technology and regulatory requirements
• Represent CGI at conferences and events

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Experience and Education:

• Minimum of ten years of directly related IT experience with at least five years of security experience. Related post-secondary education would be an asset.
• Strong understanding of the cyber security market and the challenges faced by organizations.
• Proven balance of business acumen and technical experience.
• Experience presenting and/or discussing technical proposals with clients and forming trusted relationships.
• In-depth experience architecting complex technical solutions.
• Experience conducting requirements analysis.
• Strong knowledge of various network and security technologies
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols.
• Strong troubleshooting, reasoning and problem solving skills.
• Experience delegating to and mentoring team members.
• Ability to deal with aggressive timelines and the associated pressure.
• Ability to speak, write and communicate clearly and effectively in fluent English
• Ability to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance of Level 1 (Enhanced Reliability Clearance - ERC).

Desirable:
• Knowledge/experience in one or more of: Security Information Event Management (SIEM), VPN, Firewalls, Web Content Filtering, Internet Policy Enforcement, Web Application Firewall (WAF), Database Activity Monitoring (DAM), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
• Security certifications such as: CISSP, CISM, SANS GIAC such as GCFW, GCIA, GCWN.
• Experience working with one or more enterprise architecture frameworks such as SABSA, TOGAF, ZACKMAN.
• Understanding of information security frameworks such as ISO 27001, COBIT.
• Familiarity with PCI, NERC. MITS, ITSG 33 or other compliance requirements
• Ability to speak and write in French.
Ability to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance of Level II (Secret).
