Position Description
We are offering the chance to lead a team of experienced professionals in an advanced business environment.


Your future duties and responsibilities
Reporting to the Lead Architect GTA; and assigned to a broad range of proposals, projects and engagements, the successful candidate will:

• Develops overall strategic data architecture direction and provides a comprehensive road map for the product data needs

• Provides technical leadership for data management and data architecture, design and development

• Serves as a liaison between the business experts/users and the project technical team to ensure the users requirements are understood and interpreted correctly by the technical team.
• Provides guidance on and develops data governance models
• Provides guidance on the development of data process mapping

• Defines and estimates project proposals and creates project plans and staffing models

• Develops new BI assets (reports, dashboards, analytic models etc.)

• Develops and helps institute best practice, methodologies and standards with regard to Master Data, Data Quality, Data Governance, Data Structure, Data Architecture, and Data Security



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 10+ years of overall Information systems, services / consulting experience of which the recent 5+ years in data architecture

• Expert knowledge around designing and leading data integration, and strong data modeling fundamentals

• Experience leading technical project efforts including project planning, design, build, test, and data conversion/migration as well as report design and builds

• Hands on experience with data profiling tools and processes

• Experience with BI solutions: architecture, design and development of data marts, and reporting models

• Object Oriented design and development through UML

• Excellent SQL skills and demonstrated ability to write complex SQL for purposes of analyzing data and/or evaluating how information needs might be translated into back end database structures

• Well versed in the following data domains: Master Data, Operational Data, Analytical Data, Unstructured Data, and Metadata.

• Expert knowledge of normalized and dimensional modeling techniques

• Experience with data modeling, 3rd normal form and dimensional (Star schema, Snowflake).

• Experience with data modeling tools (e.g. Erwin, Sybase Power Designer, EA, etc.) and understanding of IDEF1X.

• Prior experience working with data modeling repository server environment and maintaining model versions/model objects which may be common to several distinct application development efforts.

• Experience with Business Intelligence tools, (e.g. OBIEE, SQL Server Reporting Services and Analysis Services, Cognos, Business Objects, Hyperion).

• Demonstrated abilities with ETL and data integration technologies/tools (e.g. Informatica, Oracle Warehouse Builder, Data Stage, SQL Server Integration Services)

• Hand on experience with Oracle RAC and PL/SQL

Preferred Skills and Abilities

• Experience with unstructured data through the design and development of content management solutions

• Additional 3-5 years working in another role within a data warehouse team, such as business/data analyst, quality assurance analyst, ETL developer or BI / information delivery developer.

• Banking industry data model experience, such as BIAN

• Big Data Analytic skills (Hadoop, Horton, Cloudera, MapR, R Language, etc.)

• Can communicate in both technical and business terms

• Excellent presentation skills

• Relevant post-graduate or certificate programs

• Appropriate industry certifications

• Eligible to work in Canada
