Job Description Data Modeler

Position Description
We have an immediate need for a Data Modeler to join our financial services team in Herndon, VA. This is an exciting full-time opportunity to participate in one of the largest technology replacements in history. Your future duties and responsibilities
• Develop logical and physical data models
• Map logical entities to the conceptual Data Model
• Ensure data objects adhere to defined enterprise standards and best practices
• Create logical data model using ER STUDIO as the modeling tool
• Develop DDL implementation/back-out plans
• Promote data models into production metadata environments
• Support DDL PROD implementation
• Support post-production validation of DDL
• Provide Level of Efforts (LOEs), activity status, identify dependencies impacting deliverables, identify risks and mitigation plans, identify issues and impacts
• Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of key stakeholders
• Thrives in an environment with changing priorities
• Able to navigate through a large corporate environment and ensure appropriate processes are met



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Experience with XML data and modeling XSDs
• Experience with both relational and dimensional data modeling
• Experience with data management standards
• Experience with physical data structure design in Oracle & SQL Server using ER Studio
• Mortgage/finance industry data modeling experience
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science preferred
