Position Description
CGI is currently hiring a Data Modeler with a strong reporting background for our team in Houston, TX. This is a full time role with CGI, and all benefits start on your first day of employment!


Your future duties and responsibilities
•Problem Solving – demonstrated ability to conceptualize, define and solve difficult problems
•Modeling/Analysis – strong aptitude for modeling and analyzing business decisions, whether operational, tactical or strategic
•Data Management/Manipulation – understanding of and ability to work with large amounts of data to clean inputs and present outputs in a visual, easy to understand manner
•Communications – has strong written and oral communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively even if the role is confined to model building and implementation. The focus is on gathering requirements, communicating (sometimes counter-intuitive) results and motivating line personnel to acting on EO outputs
•Delivered Products – history of delivering completed products on time; strong attention to detail



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
The following technical skills are mandatory for consideration, in addition to the required qualifications below:

- SQL Server Integration Services
- SQL Server experience
- BI/reporting background


•Business Modeling – 3+ years’ experience modeling in Excel a must; understanding of linear programming and constraint-based modeling systems (e.g. OPL Studio, Lindo, GAMS) a strong plus; It is preferable that the experience be in modeling and analyzing the types of business problems that EO is typically applied to (e.g. operational, tactical and strategic planning), vs. tangential techniques such as simulation and statistics
•Business Analyst/Management or Business Advisory Consultant – Prior experience supporting business decision making, including problem definition, research/analysis, expectation management, client management and business process definition
•Data Management & Programming – understanding of database systems such as SQL Server, and ideally SSIS and reporting environments; VBA programming knowledge is a plus

Education:
A B.S. in Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research or other engineering fields is essential, an M.B.A. or Master’s degree in Engineering or Operations Research is preferred
•Managerial Accounting & Micro-economics – Knowledge of financial and cost accounting is a plus; a fundamental understanding of micro-economics -- which could be gained through relevant work experience -- is critical
