Position Description
As a high-energy business developer with New England State and Local government executive relationships, you will sell CGI high-end consulting offerings and solutions. You will be part of a regionally-based senior team of career consultants that enjoy working together and you will be compensated with a competitive salary, performance bonuses, and benefits.


Your future duties and responsibilities
The Director, Business development will work closely with our Public Sector VP and Directors of Consulting Services (DCS) to sell our distinctive portfolio of services that focus on creating synergy between business units and IT organizations. The Director should be an independent, motivated sales professional with prior sales experience in a professional services and/or IT environment for Public Sector clients.

This business development leader is responsible for prospecting within Public Sector clients in New England (less Connecticut) to uncover new opportunities and work with our team to introduce and sell CGI’s comprehensive IT services including long-term outsourcing deals and intellectual property. The individual will also identify and develop opportunities within existing clients working closely with our delivery staff.

The business developer should be an excellent communicators and facilitator. He/She should be creative, outgoing, enthusiastic, and will have the ability to build and nurture relationships - both internally and externally.

• Responsible for sales process activities with specific annual sales targets.
• Establish long-term, multi-project relationships with new and existing clients.
• Initiate sales calls to prospects and existing customers within the US New England (USNE) Public Sector and secure and confirm client meetings with CGI’s delivery experts.
• Manage the initial phases of the sales cycle and present the capabilities and value of CGI.
• Assist in preparing presentation materials and participate in client presentations, meetings and follow up.
• Enter, track and manage opportunities and sales activity in our CRM application.
• Learn the CGI selling methodologies and learn and demonstrate CGI’s service offering capabilities
• Keep abreast of the public sector trends as well as the competitive position of the company.
• Travel within the New England states required.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Must be highly motivated, organized, self-sufficient, and flexible.
• Must be able to motivate and lead others in the definition, direction and execution of project initiatives.
• Effective problem-solving skills, specifically the ability to assess situations, evaluate options and define strategies as required.
• Have a track record of building strong relationships.
• The ability to successfully organize, prioritize and manage multiple client contacts in a self-driven environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven track record managing and attaining a multi-million dollar revenue quota ($3M-$6M).
• 10+ years of experience with at least 3+ years of solution sales experience in a professional services and/or IT environment.
• Experience with solution selling methodologies such as Miller Heiman and Large Account Management (LAMP) preferred.
