Director Consulting – Digital Enterprise Architect – Retail, Manufacturing, and CPG

As a core member of CGI's Manufacturing Retail Consumer Services team the Enterprise Architect should understand the business and technical capabilities of designated clients, collaborate with other key members of the account team and build relationships with senior members of the business and technology teams of the client -- based on a shared passion to innovate and drive technology solutions for business challenges.

Key Responsibilities
• Engage with the client for Digital strategic and transformative initiatives while partnering with the client Architecture, Operations, IT, Technical Services and business stakeholders.
• Analyze and grasp the architectural strategy and vision of the client to provide consulting value-add and propose CGI products and engagements
• Develop system concepts, logical architectures, solution options, pros and cons of options
• Demonstrate ability to execute basic financial analysis, such as ROI
• Stay on top of emerging technology trends and derive innovative solutions to business needs.
• Provide end-to-end solution architecture for on-going and new initiatives.
• Contribute thought capital through the creation of executive presentations and proposals.
• Provide oversight of solution design, technical architecture, security architecture, infrastructure architecture, database architecture and design, system and application design, development, system integration and testing activities for industry-aligned value added business solutions.
• Provide creative alternatives and recommendations in a business context while working closely with business architecture and technology delivery team.
• Work with delivery and technical teams on CGI-governed projects to develop project plans, resourcing and technical estimates.
• Work in a Global Delivery model with offshore and near-shore resources.
• Mentor and establish relations across technical and architecture teams. Evaluate and interview potential team members.

Required Work Experience
• 10+ years’ experience in IT, with at least the last 3 years in enterprise, solution or application architecture-related roles. A proven track record of leading multiple innovation projects and delivering business benefits within the retail industry strongly preferred.
• Retail & Systems Integration consulting experience - Broad knowledge of retail management, ecommerce, Omni- Channel, POS, mobile, supply chain, planning and PLM systems strongly preferred.
• Ability to develop a strategic vision & roadmap within a business portfolio & architecture space
• Ability to translate business needs into technical strategy, gather requirements to construct and deliver TO-BE environment.
Experience with application development/SDLC, experience with languages and technologies such as: Java/J2EE, Microsoft , .NET Framework, COBOL/RPG

• Successfully implemented multi-tiered business solutions within a Services-Oriented-Architecture for high availability, scalability and performance (MDM, Reusability, Security, Scalability).
• Systems Integration/Middleware experience (Web Services SOAP REST).
• Experience in participating in and influencing vendor selection of packaged applications including contribution to RFPs
• Extensive exposure to enterprise, network, infrastructure, messaging and database architectures.
• Expert in standard development methodologies such as RUP, XP and/or Agile
• Expert in object-oriented modeling, design and development

Nice to have experience;
• Experience working for a national retailer with multiple distribution centers
• Experience in working with and implementation of packaged applications for retail such as order management, merchandising operations, planning, forecasting, PIM, Analytics, etc.
• P• re-sales experience in the software industry selling to C-Level Executives and technical leaders.
