Job Description Environmental Engineer/Scientist

Position Description
This position is in support of the AMCOM G-4 Environmental Office. Candidate will provide onsite support applying approved methodologies and engineering principles to assist client organizations in maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations.

Principle Duties:

• Monitor current and pending environmental regulations and advise client of best mitigation alternatives to ensure environmental compliance.
• Conduct environmental monitoring and process assessments to include, air, water, hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
• Prepare engineering specifications, information briefings and presentations to communicate environmental compliance and industrial wastes issues.
• Prepare weekly and monthly status reports to document progress.
• Travel to various locations to participate in on-site visits, and technical conferences when required.

Required Skills:

• Excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Access, Word, Excel, Power Point).

• Knowledge of analytical/problem solving concepts applicable to wide range of environmental and industrial problems and conservation of natural resources.
• Knowledge of techniques and methods for monitoring, measuring, and auditing processes and skill in conducting studies to obtain scientific data.
• General knowledge of various environmental subject matter areas to include hazardous waste/material management, spill response, pollution prevention and waste minimization, air quality, storm water management, lead and asbestos, water pollution and control, recycling, solid waste, sustainable operations, and associated environmental documentation.
• Knowledge of problem solving and ability to troubleshoot and investigate such problems targeting continuous improvement.


Additional Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in in an environmental science or engineering field (or equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience; or six (6) years of related experience in lieu of degree.

Desired Skills:

Experience in energy consulting and advisory services including assessments, usage analysis, specification development, cost benefit analysis and development of energy strategies.
