Job Description H-60M Avionics Architecture Project Lead

Position Description
This H-60M Avionics Architecture Project Lead position will be responsible for the design, development, integration, test and verification of a next generation Avionics Architecture. This includes Avionics hardware and software commonality with 60V as much as feasible; leveraging Avionics efforts from other PEO helicopter project offices, USAF Combat Rescue Helicopter, and Navy; and developing Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) conformant applications to break vendor lock on the current 60M Avionics hardware and software.


Your future duties and responsibilities
Project Lead for UH/HH-60M Avionics Architecture development efforts. Responsibilities include:
• Managing and developing an Avionics Architecture for UH-60M.
• Analyzing Commercial Off-The Shelf (COTS) components for integration into the UH/HH-60M Avionics Architecture, where possible and appropriate.
• Incorporating RTCA/DO-178C and AGILE software development processes into the UH/HH-60M Avionics software.
• Managing project performance, cost, schedule and risks.
• Developing project management products, such as Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
• Providing overall direction and coordination of a multi-disciplined functional Integrated Product Team (IPT), consisting of Government and contractor personnel.
• Documenting, analyzing and tracking program performance, cost, schedule and risk metrics.
• Using engineering technical knowledge and experience to make sound engineering design decisions.
• Applying System Engineering processes in the design, development, integration, testing, verification and validation of each effort.
• Ensuring airworthiness requirements for the UH/HH-60M aircraft are maintained.
• Preparing and/or briefing presentations, training materials, white papers, etc.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• B.S. in Aeronautical or Electrical Engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others, both Government and Contractor.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
• U.S. citizen.
• Current Secret clearance.

Experience and Technical Knowledge on:
• Contract documents, such as Statements of Work (SOWs), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), Document Summary Lists (DSLs), Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)
• Effective project management leadership of multi-disciplined Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
• Software Development.
• Understanding of RTCA/DO-178C design and development processes.
• Experience with integrating Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) components into Army helicopters.
• Avionics hardware and/or software.
• System Engineering processes.
• Army airworthiness qualification requirements.
• Software development experience, Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)levels, and software development models (waterfall, incremental, AGILE).
Other duties include:
• Notifying UH-60M management of issues as required.
• Performing engineering "due diligence" to ensure all courses of action are considered.
• Participating as an IPT member for other Utility Helicopter Project Office (UHPO) efforts.
• M.S. in Systems Engineering or Project Management
• Project Manager Professional (PMP)
