Job Description IT Systems Engineer

Position Description
IT Systems Engineer for a critical DHS CBP Program that is responsible for identifying, acquiring, deploying and sustaining Non-Intrusive Inspection (NII) and Radiation Detection Equipment (RDE) at U.S. Ports of Entry. Serves as the Lead Business Authority’s (LBA) representative and facilitates strategic direction, functional and operational requirements, policies, procedures and resource allocation decisions.

The IT Systems Engineer will support the Port Radiation Inspection, Detection and Evaluation (PRIDE) system, which is government-developed software for law enforcement that connects and fuses data from various radiation detection technologies and officer feedback into a single file to allow consolidated adjudication of radiation alarms and facilitate rapid transfer to offsite scientists for technical analysis. PRIDE also facilitates data transfer with CBP data systems [Automated Targeting System (ATS) and Cargo Enforcement Reporting and Tracking Systems (CERTs)] in a single user interface.



Your future duties and responsibilities
- Liaise with the CBP Office of Information Technology, Targeting Analysis Systems Program Directorate (CBP OIT TASPD) that develops, maintains and hosts the PRIDE system.
- Support integration with other systems such as the Data Analysis Center - Threat Evaluation and Reduction (DAC-TER) and the Automated RPM Detection Integration System (ARDIS) which seek to implement electronic transfer of Radiation Portal Monitor (RPM) and PRIDE data at port of entry and provide automatic operations and will provide threat analysis delivery to stakeholders in the form of dashboards, warnings and reports.
- Provide support in the planning, coordination, monitoring, scheduling, tracking deliverables and documenting results
- Provide assistance with analysis and integration of programmatic data obtained from the NII capability providers that will be used to formulate long-term plans and goals aligned with program objectives, schedules and operational and functional requirements
- Provide assistance in the development, update and review of various types of technical documentation which includes directives and Standard Operating Procedures for use by CBP Field Operations
- Provide support with responses to internal and external stakeholders
- Provide support to the NII Government PMs coordinating and leading training efforts for field personnel



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.
- Must have at least a Bachelor's degree in IT, business, engineering or related field and at least 8 years specialized experience. Specialized experience must include at least (3) years in the collection, analysis and presentation of large and complex data sets, eliciting and documenting requirements, supporting complex system integration efforts, developing and delivering training and user support for user interfaces and developing technical documentation and presentations.
