Job Description Java Developer

Position Description
CGI is seeking a Mid-Level UI Developer to join an exciting team that provides support to federal client at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The selected candidate will join the project team as a Java developer and be involved in the design, development, testing and implementation of the web application and in the maintenance and support of the system going forward.


Your future duties and responsibilities
The selected candidate will become a member of the Software Development Team and will report to the Team Lead. The selected candidate will be responsible for establishing, enforcing, and following coding standards across all systems, implementation deliverables and ensuring on-time delivery of solutions that meet project expectations.

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing support to a web-enabled business application. This includes the design, development, test, and implementation of new functionalities as well as enhancements to existing ones.
- Software development experience
- Developer must be a team player and follow the documented development processes.
- Design and develop defined enhancements.
- Provide production support
- Debug and analyze defects
- Create and develop JUnit test cases



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Hands-on knowledge and experience of SOA, JBOSS, J2EE, Web Services, XML, JMS, ESB, and MS SQL Server, Eclipse, SOAP/XML, Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to work in a dynamic and agile environment with changing requirements and priorities.
- Ability to take direction to iteratively define and implement solutions as requirements are being identified and finalized.
- Keeping the big picture in mind to ensure that the pieces make up the final solution
- Ability to work independently and conduct self-directed research.
- 3-6 years hands on JAVA development experience
- Prior working experience on the following technologies is a must:
SOA, JBOSS, J2EE, Web Services, XML, JMS, ESB, and MS SQL Server, Eclipse, SOAP/XML
- Bachelors degree
Desired qualifications:
• Have prior experience working on compliance with section 508 accessibility controls.
• Have prior experience in frontend security for role-based application security.
• Fast Learner with strong analytical skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic and agile environment.
• Ability to define, architect and implement UI solutions based on requirements and design.
• Ability to work independently and conduct self-directed research.
