Senior Java Support Developer
Position Description
CGI is looking for an Intermediate Java Developer with minimum 5-6 years for the production support role.
An essential aspect of this role involves designing, developing, troubleshooting, debugging and testing of applications. The Java Developer works with team members and clients to design and develop business applications that support client needs. In addition, this role builds enhancements to the existing software and suggests improvements to the system.
Your future duties and responsibilities
• Accountable for the development, support and maintenance of the Application.
• Provide integrated testing and debugging for new programming tasks/functions.
• Write high quality and well-documented code, according to accepted standards.
• Create detailed technical design specification documents that can later be used for programming when required.
• Conduct regressive testing to ensure backwards compatibility of the system.
• Evaluate alternative design approaches to meet business and customer requirements.
• Provide estimates for development items and consistently meet estimate and programming deadlines.
• Provide standard Product and enhancement support.
• Provide analyses of problems reported by customers and support customer issues.
• Participate in project and team meetings; interact and collaborate with team members and other departments as appropriate.
• On-call pager support.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
6 to 7 years of experience :
• JAVA 6 or higher version
• IBM Websphere
• Java Script
• SQL/DB2
• AIX
• Birt report
• WSDL
• Good communication skills.
• Good team player.
