Position Description
CGI Federal is looking for a Junior Computer Systems Analyst to participate in all phases of the SDLC, with emphasis on systems requirements, design, development/programming, documentation, testing, and implementation.


Your future duties and responsibilities
Builds and codes applications and/or modules using tools such as: Java, C++, Visual Basic, ABAP, JAVA, XTML, Objective C, HTML 5, .NET, Node JS, Hadoop, GreenPlum, MS SQLServer, AWS, Azure, AGILE methods, Red Hat Linux, SAS, VMWare, Erwin, HIJAAK, Unix, Unix script. Other tools – we are also looking at expertise in open source tools like splunk, JAWS, OpenStack, Swagger, etc. Must be able to work in Agile dev/ops teams and understand Agile method.

Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems.
Designs web-based, mobile technology, cloud, and security interface to meet the specific needs of users.
Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
May build add-on modules using application program language.
May have vendor management responsibility.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 1-2 years of experience is required
• Possess knowledge of federal laws and regulations, directives, instructions, policy, standards, and guidance so that requirements support security and privacy compliance, which is critical to prevent delays later in the SDLC. Possess knowledge of FedRAMP requirements and guidance.
• Experience and ability to develop, maintain, and support applications, computer/network operating systems, and other system software, through design, coding, unit testing, benchmark testing, modeling, simulation, debugging, and documentation.
• Experienced in developing, maintaining, and using applications in mainframe and individual workstation/local area network (IWS/LAN) environments.
• Works as a member of the team with oversight by project technical lead.
• Ability to clearly convey issues, reports, and other deliverables to SSA counterparts and technical teammates.
• Experience and ability to prepare, design present technical and status reports and documentation.
• Experience making certain that information security risks are managed throughout the SDLC.
• Experience in/knowledge with all technical phases of the SDLC process and proficient in SDLC activities such as developing systems requirements, translating technical specs to programming specs, coding, preparing testing criteria, test data, and tests, debugging code, refining applications software, and implementing systems.
• Experience maintaining and supporting applications, computer and/or network operating systems, and other system software, including installing system software, configuration, testing, optimization, evaluation, maintenance, documentation, and providing user support.
• Performs evaluations of COTS software packages, customizes software and makes recommendations on COTS packages.


CERTIFICATIONS:
Ideal candidate will have one or more of the following Certifications: IEEE, SEI, Microsoft, UNIX, JAVA, COBOL, Network, Security, Architecture, Web, Service-based, Oracle, IBM, Data related, and Database related.

Desired Specific Skills: Proficiency with SDLC; programming skills; system administration skills
Desired Emerging Tech Experience: Cloud
