Job Description Junior Information Systems Engineer

Position Description
CGI Federal is looking for a Junior Information Systems Engineer who will perform IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging, and implementation of applications programs supporting company business processes and operations.


Your future duties and responsibilities
Analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies, and supports operating systems, database or utilities software.
Plans, conducts and directs the analysis of business problems to be solved with automated systems.
Analyzes, designs, acquires, and implements projects for LAN and/or WAN systems.
Plans, designs, acquires, and implements telecommunications voice/wire systems.
At higher job levels, may contribute to the development, testing, evaluation or design of system or infrastructure architecture used throughout the IT solution set.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Bachelor’s Degree is required along with 1-2 years of experience evaluating new applications and software technologies in area of expertise.
Has good oral and written communications skills.
Knowledgeable of federal security and privacy standards. Knowledgeable of FedRAMP guidelines.
Possesses technical expertise in a particular area.
Assists in performing systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews; and in developing system security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures.
Assists in developing information models and services for the enterprise shared software and database management systems.
Assists in producing documentation for all phases of the SDLC. Has detailed knowledge in key technical areas and focuses that knowledge in developing documentation in that area.
Assists in identifying issues and resolving issues by preparing recommendations based on the use of analytical and computational techniques that offer best recommendation for problem resolution particularly in area of expertise.


Desired Certifications:
Certified Business Operations Professional (CBOP), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Accredited Management Consultant (AMA), PMP, CBM, CIPM, CMC, CM, CMBA, CIM, CFCM, MKMP, MPM, MMC, P.Mgr, or SCPM. Categories of software certifications that provide professional-level IT certifications include IEEE, SEI, Microsoft, UNIX, JAVA, COBOL, Network, Security, Architecture, Web, Service-based, Oracle, IBM, Data related, and Database related. Categories of database certifications that provide professional-level IT certifications include relational, NOSQL, Document oriented, Object oriented, Columnar, or Hierarchical.
