Job Description Junior Information Technology Specialist

Position Description
CGI Federal is looking for a Junior Information Technology Specialist who will assist with building and coding applications and/or modules using tools such as C++, Visual Basic, ABAP, JAVA, XTML, Objective C, HTML 5, .NET, Node JS, Red Hat Linux, SAS, VMWare. Other tools – we are also looking at expertise in open source tools like splunk, JAWS, OpenStack, Swagger, etc. Knowledge of Agile methodology preferred and ability to work in Agile teams required.


Your future duties and responsibilities
Assists with reverse-engineering and reengineering disciplines of existing systems and development of system upgrades, migration strategic, and planning documents.
Assists in preparation and evaluation of design alternatives, data modeling, process design, software specifications, test plans, implementation plans, etc.
Assists in the review and recommendation of solutions to customer problems.
Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems.
Designs Web-based, mobile technology, cloud, and security interface to meet the specific needs of users.
Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
May build add-on modules using application program language.
May have vendor management responsibility.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Bachelor’s Degree required along with 1-2 years of relevant experience
Entry-level experience and education in SDLC, database and system design, coding, testing and validation, change control, operation, and maintenance in a mainframe environment.
Must have excellent Oral and written communication skills

Desired Certs / Other: Relevant software and/or hardware certifications
