Job Description Junior .Net Developer

Position Description
CGI is looking for a Junior Level .Net Developer to join our Federal Business Unit who will support the EPA account team. The project is a Service Oriented Architecture-based network that handles the exchange of environmental data between EPA and its stakeholders (states, tribes, municipalities, private industry). The program builds, operates, and maintains this network and is responsible for building the data flows and environmental applications that operate on and integrate on the network. Developer must be a team player and follow the documented development processes. This is a dynamic position in an Agile environment - being able to communicate effectively and accurately estimate and hit sprint goals for time and date is essential.


Your future duties and responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include the following:

• Code development according to specifications
• Unit testing and writing test cases
• Peer review other developers’ design and code
• Diagnose and fix bugs in conjunction with QA team
• Coordinate and communicate cross-functional activities between team members
• Document development efforts and code changes on an on-going basis
• Support implementation processes
• Cooperate with multiple project teams to support production operations
• Develop UI, Business Logic, and Data Access Layers
• Maintain web services using C# as well as suggesting improvements to procedures to aid in the effort of continuous improvement



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
To be considered for one of these challenging positions, applicants must have a majority of the following skills knowledge and abilities:
• 1-3 years overall IT/Software development experience
• 1-3 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience
• Minimum 1-3 years of recent experience programming C#, ASP.NET (ideally experience with Framework 4.5) and working knowledge of Visual Studio environment
• Bachelor degree in computer science, information systems or related field
• Ability to produce results within specified time frames
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications:
• 0-3 years of experience with OOP and OOD Methodologies
• 0-3 years of experience with Transact SQL with working knowledge of SQL Server
• Working knowledge of WCF/REST Services/ Web Services
• Working knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX or other similar technologies
• Azure PaaS (SQL, Web Worker, worker threads) is a plus
• Experience with unit testing (nUnit) and TDD/BDD is a plus
• Basic knowledge of TFS (Team Foundation Server) 2012 a plus
• Proficient knowledge of Agile Scrum a plus
