Position Details Job order - J0417-1149 - Permanent Full Time Title Junior Software Engineer Category Software Development/ Engineering City Huntsville, Alabama, United States Job Description Junior Software Engineer Position Description Provides technical support to the transition of the tactical, training and simulation software baseline from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to a post-production software sustainment (PPSS) phase of the subcomponent lifecycle to a software maintenance facility and we do need local engineering support to the project office in-order to support product and program requirements. This would include PPSS for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Partners. Principle Duties: Must have knowledge of modern software development processes and Army Acquisition, to include object-oriented development, Agile and use of tools, and how to apply them to software application program development. Must be capable of providing technical support for software development programs with minimal management supervision. Must be capable of translating operational requirements into detailed software/system requirements. Must be capable of integrating COTS products into software/system architectures. Must be able to understand the use of tools and technologies and integrate them into existing products and processes. Must be capable of executing technical direction to design and development teams, and monitoring progress and productivity through the use of metrics. Additionally, must have a general understanding of communications protocols, and be able to quickly understand the Army Technical Architecture guidelines as it applies to the Army Acquisition Process Required Skills: Knowledge of Army Acquisition process, hardware for computer systems, Knowledge of operating systems for computer systems, Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and build computer systems, Additional Requirements: Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related scientific or technical discipline with 2 years experience. Desired Skills: Understanding of MLRS Platforms and munitions capabilities are desire.
