CGI is seeking a Mainframe Senior Developer with strong experience in developing software applications using Mainframe and DB2 Technologies, to become a part of a dynamic team located in Windsor, Connecticut! This is an exciting opportunity to augment your current skills, as well as, learn new technologies.

Your future duties and responsibilities
6+ years of experience in developing software applications using Mainframe, DB2 Technologies

The Application Designer/Developer is responsible for analysis, design, and development and testing of Mainframe based applications. Must have experience in Healthcare insurance with the ability to lead and facilitate meetings with the client, users and the development team. Will coordinate with offshore teams, assignment of work and gathering deliverables from offshore, ensuring quality of code going into production. Ability to create design documents is a must. Prior design experience is value added.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
1. Excellent programming skills in Mainframe, COBOL, DB2, JCL, Mainframe tools.

2. Have multi technology knowledge like .NET, Java

3. Healthcare knowledge and the experience is a must especially in Provider.

4. Experience using Software Development Lifecycle and methods

5. Must be willing to work diligently to meet project deadlines

6. Coding, unit testing and supporting different phases of testing.

7. Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with application quality, coding, UI and Corporate standards

8. Responsible for production implementation and support activities.

9. Coordinating with offshore and responsible for status updates, get the work delivered as per agreed timelines

10. Experience in creating the design documents – High Level & Low Level Design Documents

11. Excellent communication skills – Written and Verbal

Forward thinking, independent, creative, self-sufficient and go-getter; who can work with less documentation.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required.
