UNIX Systems Admin with Messaging Web Services
Position Description
CGI IS looking for a candidate to join our team in Reston VA who has UNIX systems administration skills, API, messaging/web services platforms experience for implementation and support.
Your future duties and responsibilities
• Consult with internal technology teams to configure and maintain messaging, web services platforms.
• Coordinate with these groups when necessary to troubleshoot issues.
• Provide on-call operational support. Analyze and provide problem resolution for complex technical issues. Identify potential improvements to increase the reliability, availability, supportability and performance of the underlying platforms.
• The position is technical and “hands-on” and may require the candidate to be on pager duty as per a published schedule.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• B.S. in computer Science or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of professional UNIX Systems Administration experience supporting enterprise platforms
• Hands-on installation, configuration and maintenance of API Gateways, Tibco EMS, BusinessWorks, HAWK Agent environments. This includes troubleshooting production issues, deploying application and configuration components.
• Create, maintain, seek approvals for Change Requests required to deploy application configurations/rules to various environments.
• Production support of business applications: start and stop of application instances, troubleshoot application failures and diagnosing performance or reliability issues of applications.
• Previous experience programming with OS-level scripting (bash), XML transformations (XPATH and XSLT) and JAVA coding language.
Nice to have Skills
• Understanding of API Gateway products like Axway API Gateway, Layer 7/CA XML Gateway products
• Experience with virtualized environments (VMware Server, VMware ESX/vSphere) and Cloud-based images (Amazon AMI).
