Position Details Job order - J0717-1612 - Permanent Full Time Title Micro Focus Cobol Developer Category Software Development/ Engineering City Sacramento, California, United States Job Description Micro Focus Cobol Developer Position Description CGI is looking for Micro Focus Developers using IMS DB on Linux to join our Federal Business Unit. The successful candidate will provide application maintenance services support and work on a team supporting an extensive application portfolio. Duties will include maintenance and enhancements of existing applications. Your future duties and responsibilities • Planning, analysis, design, coding, and testing software applications • Work as integral member of technical teams, supporting standard SDLC phases by regularly performing tasks such as programming/coding, and testing results. • Debug programs and troubleshoot application issues, in production and development. • Create and maintain technical documentation • Coordinate with management, other business groups, departments, and IT staff Required qualifications to be successful in this role • US Citizenship with ability to successfully obtain agency specific security clearance • 5-7 years’ experience maintaining / developing in the Micro Focus Cobol environment, IMS DB and Linux and Oracle eBS environment Required qualifications to be successful in this role • Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required. • 10 years of relevant experience • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or relevant work experience. • Experience in software or application architecture and/or consulting • Experience in either full application stack monitoring or full application stack development preferred. Minimum requirement is strong, demonstrable understanding of full application stack architectures • Experience in Manufacturing Applications • Enjoys working in fast-paced, varied environments with highly diverse application architectures • Ability to use collaboration to solve problems and think on your feet • Familiarity with Linux • IT Consulting experience • Ability to interface with customers and lead complex deployments while following a methodology • Knowledge of Oracle eBS manufacturing Build your career with us.
