Job Description Microsoft .NET Developer

Position Description
CGI is looking for Cross Functional Senior Developer with .NET and some Java experience to join our Federal Business Unit to support a Federal Client in Arlington, VA. The successful candidate will support various projects within the Federal government and work on a team supporting an extensive application portfolio. Duties will include maintenance of existing applications and contributing towards design and implementation of evolving applications.


Your future duties and responsibilities
• Planning, analysis, design, coding, and testing software applications
• Work as integral member of technical teams, supporting standard SDLC phases by regularly performing tasks such as interpreting program specifications and providing analysis, contributing to design, programming/coding, and testing results.
• Debug programs and troubleshoot application issues, in production and development.
• Implement SOAP/REST based enterprise applications, modify and maintain SOAP/REST services, and provide technical guidance related to SOAP/REST services.
• Follow application development practice by adhering application security model.
• Develop via service-oriented, and Agile development methodologies
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Coordinate with management, other business groups, departments, and IT staff



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 3-5 years’ experience developing in the .NET platform
• At least 3 years of experience in developing .NET web applications and web services.
• At least 1 years of experience in developing SOAP/REST web services for client consumption
• At least 3 years of full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience
• At least 1 years of experience developing and managing deployment life-cycles using Ant or Maven and Continuous Integration environments
• At least 1 years of experience developing applications that utilize XML and related technologies
• Experience with MVC framework, jQuery, Angular. Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage in a self-directed fashion
• Experience with desktop application environment and network troubleshooting
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage in a self-directed fashion
• Experience developing and managing deployment life-cycles using Microsoft TFS and related tools
• Experience in all phases of the SDLC including analysis, design, coding, and testing.
• Knowledge of and experience with Agile practices including SCRUM, Kanban, and TDD.
• US Citizenship required with ability to successfully obtain mid-level, agency specific security clearance (e.g., no bankruptcies within the last 26 years and no criminal records)
• Working from home is not allowed per the contract.

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience with Crystal Reports
- Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
- Prior Cross functional team experience
