Position Description
As a member of the Network Big Data team, working closely with business partners, Network Engineering and Operations to understand business needs and design and develop solutions by exploring data sources and using analytics approaches e.g. mining, forecasting, visualization and to address the business needs.


Your future duties and responsibilities
• Explore new sources of information to uncover new business opportunities at all levels of the business
• Exercise leading edge analytics skills in data visualization, mining, forecasting, etc. to address business needs
• Create and maintain Business intelligence visualizations and analytics solutions applying the highest quality, optimization and performance standards.
• Build requisite automation for repetitive yet complex tasks through the use of automation technologies to streamline operations.
• Research and deploy new tools, frameworks and patterns to build a sustainable big data platform.
• Deliver technical expertise to initiatives for the Big Data analytics platform, data and applications
• Understanding and working to come up with solutions to problems, design, architect and strong documentation skills
• Work with and present to all management levels
• Maintain and expand your knowledge of BI and current technology through training opportunities
• Work in an agile environment and contribute to the improvement of our development processes



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• A Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer science, math, applied science / engineering, or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience with Microstrategy suite of products or similar tools
• Experience creating dashboards and other visualizations that deliver real-time analytics solutions
• Knowledge of analytical tools and languages such as R or Python
• Experience working with Big Data Hadoop - high volume, high velocity data
• Strong knowledge of relational data modelling and complex SQL
• Familiarity working with NoSQL databases and unstructured/semi-structured data
• Strong skills in data-driven problem solving
• Proven experience using Statistics and Mathematics skills to analyze complex datasets, identify complex correlations in data and perform predictive modelling
• Strong visualization design techniques
• Able to communicate with business users to understand, document and translate their needs into an effective BI solution
• Familiarity with machine learning and predictive analytics tools and concepts
• Experience working in the Telecommunications or Media industries is an asset.
