Position Description
CGI is looking for a Mid-Level Oracle Application Express (APEX) Developer to join the team in Greenwood Village, CO or Bloomfield, CT.

This team member will have a superior software development background that will facilitate design and development of technical solutions for new and existing web based applications. Interacts with Lead Engineers, System Analysts, Business Users, Architects, Quality Engineers, Scrum Masters and peer developers to analyze system requirements, design and develop web based applications. Technical solutions and supporting deliverables will be constructed to enable IT clients to accomplish their business objectives. This position is on a team that is responsible for providing technical Web Based applications and Business Intelligence solutions.



Your future duties and responsibilities
• Develop Oracle Application Express solutions to enhance the usability and adoption of the Analytics and Reporting Central application.

• Develop solutions using APEX features (PL/SQL, HTML, Javascript, CSS, JQuery, AJAX, REST API, etc.)

• Use Test Driven Development strategies to conduct unit testing and participate with system testing as required,

• Fill out required documentation such as installation instructions and follow Cigna standards and procedures.

• Anticipate customers’ analytic needs and proactively conceptualize and champion high-value solutions.

• Actively support products by providing prompt responses to customer problems and inquiries. Make the customer’s experience first priority in all.

• Provide on-call support duties for production support, which could include off hours and weekends.

• Keep the Production Support team management informed of any issues or concerns.

• Participate/Assist with deployments to all environments including Production (which could occur after hours).

• New development and support task responsibilities as assigned.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
1. Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent job experience

2. 1-4 years experience participating in the development of Web Based application systems. Oracle DB experience is required.

3. 2+ years software development experience

4. 1+ years of Web Based development experience using Oracle Application Express

5. Experience with PL/SQL, Javascript, HTML, CSS, JQuery, AJAX, REST API, etc.

6. Experience with TOAD, GIT, Jenkins, uDeploy

7. Knowledge of data warehousing and Unix

8. Experience working with customers from the initial development of business requirements, through all the Agile steps and providing on-going maintenance and support.

9. Knowledge of the healthcare business and subject areas is preferable

10. Demonstrates ability to obtain expert-level proficiency in multiple technologies.

11. Exemplifies teamwork and serves as role model. Ability to successfully facilitate collaboration across multiple functions, departments and levels. Unquestionable ethics & integrity.

12. Aptitude for gaining deep knowledge of the industry and business, and proactively using this knowledge to deliver meaningful results.

13. Track record of consistently delivering projects and taking accountability for work and results. Confronts tough issues and situations.

14. Consults with clients and teammates to identify all facets of an issue and generate a solution. Understands potential impacts to processes and systems across organization and factors these into solutions. Excellent conceptualization, analytical and logic skills.

15. Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both orally and in writing. Ability to articulate and translate technical language to non-technical customers. Influences at all levels across the company within span of control.

16. Demonstrates and promotes creativity and innovation. Proactively seeks out alternative solutions to business problems.

17. Must work well in a team environment

18. Understanding of contemporary software development techniques and the ability to apply them in the context of various software development life cycles

Additional Qualifications Preferred:

1. Experience with Oracle Application Express is a must

2. Familiar with Agile and SCRUM methodologies

3. Experience with GIT, Jenkins, uDeploy

4. Linux a plus

5. Advanced Degree
