Job Description Predictive Analytics Team Lead (Sr. Database Architect)

Position Description
The Sr. Database Architect will translate complex business problems, apply advanced modeling techniques, and undertake exploratory data analysis on data sets and present analytical insights through the design and delivery of actionable analytic solutions. You will utilize various data mining, statistical, and forecasting techniques to develop and deploy analytic solutions that improve VBA’s business understanding and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of VBA operations. You will provide data driven decisions by analyzing trends and patterns of behavior.


Your future duties and responsibilities
• Utilize, as appropriate, theoretical econometrics for assessing theories, developing models, analyzing history and forecasting.
• Process, analyze and interpret healthcare data from very large data repositories.
• Implement projects to meet client requirements.
• Assist in generating project specifications and designing client solutions.
• Create analysis plans, implement research and QC results.
• Create appropriate tables, reports, graphs and written analyses.
• Assist with generating the final client deliverables and documentation based on analytical results.
• Elicit customer requirements and develop the appropriate analysis plan.
• Compare alternative analytical approaches and justify to internal and external clients the appropriate methodology.
• Coach and mentor junior architects and technical leads as needed to make them successful in their roles.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Over 10+ years of relevant experience
• A Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is desired. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• Working knowledge with any of the following types of analysis: forecasting, promotional response, marketing mix, targeting, segmentation, and ROI analysis.
• Working knowledge of statistical tools - SAS, SPSS, R and methods to incorporate statistical results into analyses.
• Working knowledge of research techniques.
• Able to understand complete process flow for area of responsibility.
• Expertise using SAS Advance Analytics Pro (Base SAS, SAS/STAT, SAS/GRAPH)
• Expertise using SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence
• Expertise using SAS/OR
• Expertise using SAS Enterprise Guide
• Experience using JMP
• Experience using Simulation Studio for JMP, Enterprise Miner, Forecast Server and Text Miner
• Expertise with SAS/IML
• Expertise with SAS/ACCESS for Oracle
• Experience with Tableau and Microsoft Excel
• Expert understanding and creating various data models, such as; Conceptual, Logical and Physical Models using industry standard best practices
• Experience working with Oracle 11g databases
• Experience using PL-SQL
• Experience working within Oracle's Solaris 10 operating system
• Experience leading teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to easily work in both strategic and tactical levels
• Should be well versed in Agile methodologies
• The successful applicant must be eligible to attain a Public Trust clearance
