Position Description
Join CGI as Program Manager – Director Consulting within our Telecommunications Vertical

The role of the Program Manager is to manage a program or projects from initiation to post-implementation. The incumbent will typically be responsible for end-to-end integration delivery of a large scale implementation and may oversee several Project Managers.

The Program Manager must understand the solution and delivery details while also carefully and completely managing the transition to support.

The successful candidate must have extensive expertise managing large scale, technologically complex, multi-vendor, multi-stakeholder projects, with a strong software delivery focus and have worked to ensure knowledge transfer has been properly provided to the support teams

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Lead a project with a $3-10 million dollar budget, with duration of 12-18+ months, and a team size of 10-30+ members.
• Act as the primary delivery executive with accountability for contract management, engagement financials, client relationships, and service delivery quality.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior executives within our client organizations.
• Report on delivery status to executive bodies within the client organization and within CGI.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, work breakdown structures and timelines
• Develop and maintain cost estimates, resource plans and any other documentation required to control the project budget and statements of work
• Proactively anticipate issues and/or organizational challenges and develop mitigating strategies
• Identify and develop new business opportunities.
• Develop and build strong productive working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Lead and participate in executive level business and technology discussions.
• Demonstrate success at collaborating, building consensus, and driving multiple projects to completion
• Lead the project team through problem determination and issue resolution as required
• Communicate and reinforce project methodologies and standards developing all project artifacts as required, including issue management, risk management and change management.
• Direct and lead the project team and provide ongoing advice and guidance.
• Manage and mentor project managers and other senior delivery consultants and their deliverables based on timelines established.
• Monitor all testing and implementation activities ensuring that all phases/aspects of testing are covered based on the project to ensure project is delivered on time and on budget.
• Understand support team requirements and ensure the transition to support has a detailed plan; solution for areas that are less straightforward than typical projects



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Project Management Certification (PMP).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong problem solving and presentation skills.
• Experience with the systems development lifecycle, methodologies, estimating, troubleshooting and solutioning.
• Incredible relationship building skills
• Minimum of 10 + years of successful Program and Project Delivery experience; previous experience in roles such Project Manager/Project Director or Engagement Manager with full financial accountability, and successful delivery as defined by the following dimensions:
-Budget – $3-10 million
-Duration –12-18 months or longer
-Team Size – 10-30+ team members or more
-Multiple stakeholders in a complex stakeholder environment
-Multiple delivery partners or subcontractors
-High degree of solution/services complexity and innovation
-Experience leading remote teams
-Successful transition to the support teams
• Experience with infrastructure and IT security projects will be useful for this role.
• Previous experience on financial metric projects, e.g. Revenue Recognition, and/or in the telecommunications industry are great assets.
