SAP BW Consultant
Position Description
CGI is looking for a driven SAP BI/BW Functional Consultant to work directly with business stakeholders across business units to develop and support business processes and enable them into an existing SAP system. The candidate should also have SAP BI/BW consulting skills and build SAP BI/BW reporting solutions for our clients within the GTA.
This consultant will be responsible for working with the client team to understand their functional requirements and design, implementation and enhance the SAP BI/BW solutions.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Work directly with business stakeholders across business units to develop and support business processes and enable them in our SAP system.
Identify creative ways to improve finance and reporting efficiency and effectiveness by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).
Write business requirements and functional specifications that are clear and well understood.
Act as liaison with functional and technical staff to find creative solutions to complex problems.
Develop and execute test plans and scripts that are traceable to documented requirements; oversee and conduct user acceptance testing.
Participate in corporate change control processes.
Create and/or validate training curriculum in area of responsibility.
Promote comprehensive knowledge transfer of SAP skills to team members and or business
Adhere to IT PMO processes and standards.
Project estimating, defining and agreeing on deliverables and milestones, setting and controlling the reporting scope.
Provide timely status updates to project managers or senior business analysts.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 5+ years SAP BPC and 5+ years in SAP BW/BI functional specialist experience, working on progressively larger and more complex projects?
• A minimum 3 full lifecycles on a moderate to large SAP conversion project with tight timelines
• Ability to actively participate in full ERP implementation life-cycle efforts from global blueprinting scenarios to regional implementation of systems
• Preference for manufacturing environment experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and presentation skills; attention to detail required. Ability to operate independently and follow general guidelines
• Some travel may be required
