We're expanding our Financial Services Team in Atlantic Canada and we need your skills, enthusiasm, and dedication as part of our team.



Your future duties and responsibilities
•Under general supervision, the Developer / Analyst is responsible to work effectively with peers and business counterparts to assess an assigned situation/project and define and document an appropriate solution.
•The individual will be assigned tasks that will be required to be resolved autonomously and/or work within a team to resolve the challenge.
•The individual will be responsible to follow departmental software engineering process, methodology and standards.
•Assess small scale business needs and document problem/project requirements and needs
•Analyze small scale problem/project requirements and define and document appropriate solution
•Estimate approximate effort required to produce appropriate solution/project
•Work with a team to understand solution scope and vision for assigned project
•Work with a team to design and implement appropriate solution for assigned work
•Communicate and collaborate with team when assigned to an activity/project affecting other IT staff
•Investigate defects, troubleshoot and propose appropriate solutions
•Create detailed design specifications
•Transition the detail design into code and implement appropriate technical solution
•Plan and perform appropriate tests to create a high quality solution
•Provide operational support including off-hours and carrying a pager

Required Level of Education:

•Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Diploma in IT with equivalent IT experience

5 years experience with the following technical skills:

• Base SAS
• SQL
• SQL/PL SQL
• SQL Server

Soft Skills:

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Critical eye for detail
• Positive attitude
• Able to multitask effectively
• Have excellent time management, task planning and prioritization skills
• Able to adapt quickly to changing client requirements
• Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Enjoy working in a self-teaching, learning organization
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients and team members

Additional Requirements:

•Financial Services experience an asset
•Agile experience an asset
•Readiness and motivation to address and resolve complex issues, guide/advise/support clients, partners and project teams, often working on multiple initiatives
•Commitment to and belief in the quality of your deliverables
