Position Description
CGI Federal is looking for a career driven Finance Professional who is ready to take on the responsibility of Sector Financial Manager and Assistant Controller within the Federal Business Unit. This position offers the opportunity for growth and career development for a talented and motivated individual.


Your future duties and responsibilities
Primary duties of the Assistant Controller include day to day management of the finance and accounting department, month end close, with a high emphasis on reporting and analysis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-starter with strong management skills. The ability to multitask while ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met is a must. Additionally, this person must be strategic and assertive in a fast paced environment.


Required qualifications to be successful in this role
This role requires an individual to have at least 10 years of solid progressive accounting and finance experience. Strong understanding of technical accounting coupled with project financial management is critical to the success of the Financial Manager-Assistant Controller. Candidates must possess a mastery of data analysis through excel. Must be adept at managing projects, prioritizing and knowing when (and how) to escalate issues. Above all, the successful candidate must be team focused, be willing to serve in multiple roles, and have a can-do attitude.
This individual must have a professional presence, outstanding work ethic, possess excellent technical skills and be able to demonstrate self-directed career achievement to date. Strong fundamental Finance skills, as well as proven ability to provide creative solutions, initiate change and manage the effort to implement changes. Excellent communication skills and an executive presence are required. Proven ability to interact with senior management at all levels and across all lines of business is essential.

Essential Skills Required:
Successful candidates will possess experience and knowledge in the following areas along with effective leadership skills.
• Financial management
• Technical Accounting
• Exposure to Internal and external audit and Internal Controls
• Revenue Recognition/ P&L Management
• Month end close process/ exposure to ERP systems
• Forecasting
• Financial Reporting
• Annual and Ad-hoc Budgeting
• Financial Analysis and modeling
• Staff Management

Hardware/Software Packages:
• Must be proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Education Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred

Additionally, the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Solid analytical, organizational and time management skills
• An acute attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to produce high quality deliverables and work under tight deadlines
• Commitment to high standards, customer service, integrity, and ethics

• Self-motivated, with a sense of autonomy, initiative and responsibility
• Demonstrated success in developing and leading high performance teams
