Position Description
CGI is hiring experienced Business Analysts for our digital solutions consultancy that combines its human-centered design, strategy and agile software development capabilities to power businesses and deliver engaging customer experiences in Pittsburgh, PA.

CGI’s Human Centered Design (HCD) Practice is at the forefront of creating engaging user experiences that make complex tasks into intuitive, accessible and easy to use designs. We are currently looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our team. In this role, you'll be working for a wide range of clients in web and mobile.



Your future duties and responsibilities
• Eliciting requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
• Critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts, decomposing high-level information into details, abstracting up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishing user requests from the underlying true needs
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and delivering the following artifacts as needed: (Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), iii. Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs)
• Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language
• Collaborating with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
• Successfully engaging in multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of project managers
• Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
• Leading and mentoring others on projects



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 5+ years’ of relevant experience in an IT or Software Engineering environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
• Success being the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams
• Participation and/or leadership in requirements sessions (i.e.: JAD sessions) is preferred
• Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
• Previous Software Development experience or combination of Business Analyst in a Software Development environment and/or software quality assurance is strongly preferred.
• Possesses the interpersonal skills needed to interact with client’s director-level management
• Able to lead business and technology teams in the appropriate direction by ensuring they have a shared understanding of a problem and solution
• Can describe the technical complexities of requirements and solutions
• More deeply understands and applies agile project management concepts
• Explains trade-offs between features (functional and non-functional) to help the customer make informed decisions
• Can lead agile ceremonies on small-to-large agile teams
• Can describe processes, and recommend improvements to them on a large scale
• A four year Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of Degree.
