Title Senior ERP Functional Consultant Lead

City Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Job Description Senior ERP Functional Consultant Lead

Position Description
CGI Edmonton is building a team of key people to replace the Government of Alberta ERP system. This is a significant opportunity to lead a vital portion of a full ERP implementation using CGI Advantage. CGI Advantage is CGI's ERP solution, built specifically for government.

The CGI Advantage ERP solution has been helping local governments improve their back office operations and better serve their citizens with a full suite of built-for-government tools, including financial management, budgeting, payroll, human resource management, procurement, collections, permitting, case management and business intelligence for the past 40 years.

This is an incredible opportunity to bring specific skills and develop new ones; you will work with our product development team prior to and during the implementation, and you will lead your section of the implementation to a successful conclusion. The initial implementation of this SaaS solution is a 3 year duration, which will roll into supporting the application for 5 years after go live, and potential extensions beyond that.

You are a seasoned ERP implementation consultant or management consultant with a strong understanding of business functions within an ERP. You will be the champion of this implementation on behalf of CGI and you have a “big picture” view and communicate it well at all levels, connecting CGI’s big picture to the client’s strategic priorities. You are comfortable leading a steering committee meeting because you understand the functional and technical components of the solution, have the confidence and tact to help clients and executives understand they have several configuration options, but creating a customization is not one of them. You are tired of hearing about failed or delayed public sector ERP implementations and want to be a part of setting a new standard in Canada.

• Stakeholder management ranging from end users to steering committee members as part of the implementation program.
• Assisting the project managers with effort estimation, planning, progressive updates, risks and mitigations as a part of the implementation project.
• Work through various phases of the project including user acceptance, master data gathering, pre go-live discussions, post go-live support, etc.
• Work with other teams in CGI to ensure that client commitments or deliverables are met on time.
• Work closely with product managers and internal stakeholders to identify gaps, enhancements and priorities for the product.
• Prepare functional design documents for customizations.
• Assist sales teams and other stakeholders with demos, RFP’s, product evaluations, prototypes and brainstorming activities.
