Position Description
CGI Edmonton is building a team of key people to replace the Government of Alberta ERP system. This is a significant opportunity to lead a vital portion of a full ERP implementation using CGI Advantage. CGI Advantage is CGI's ERP solution, built specifically for government.

The CGI Advantage ERP solution has been helping local governments improve their back office operations and better serve their citizens with a full suite of built-for-government tools, including financial management, budgeting, payroll, human resource management, procurement, collections, permitting, case management and business intelligence for the past 40 years.

This is an incredible opportunity to bring specific skills and develop new ones; you will work with our Product Development Team prior to and during the implementation, and you will lead your section of the implementation to a successful conclusion. The initial implementation of this SaaS solution is a 3 year duration, which will roll into supporting the application for 5 years after go live, with potential extensions beyond that.

You are a seasoned financial implementation consultant, with a professional accounting designation in Canada. You are comfortable conducting working sessions to identify detailed requirements and business processes. You also have the confidence to help clients and executives understand they have several configuration options, but creating a customization is not one of them. You are tired of hearing about failed or delayed Public Sector ERP implementations and want to be a part of setting a new standard for successful implementations in Canada.



Your future duties and responsibilities
• Prepare, articulate, create and clarify business requirements.
• Actively host forums or conduct working / user group sessions to gather and analyze feedback from end users.
• Participate in industry forums or community groups to assist with understanding the underlying business nuances or the future trends to help assist the ERP to react faster.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for the areas identified.
• Mentor business and functional analysts on the team.
• Participate in transitioning the requirements and use cases to the designers and developer in a manner that helps determines the various integrations, flows and dependencies of features across the product.
• Review functional design documents, user stories and other functional artifacts to ensure alignment with business needs.
• Work closely with product managers and internal stakeholders to identify enhancements and priorities for the product.
• Assist sales teams and other stakeholders with demos, RFP’s, product evaluations, prototypes, and brainstorming activities.
• Work with the delivery / development teams to deliver the implementation on time.
• Participate in and contribute to concept and design reviews.
• If / when necessary, advise alternative solutions and provide the trade-offs as well as the final recommendation.
• Ability to research across provinces or international markets to understand the variances or alignment from a national perspective.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 10+ years of experience in developing or implementing diverse Financial ERPs (SAP/ORACLE).
• Significant experience in requirement gathering & business analysis.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Expert knowledge in Financial Domain / Government accounting (fund accounting), Budgeting and preferably a Canadian accounting designation.
• Has very strong accounting knowledge & specialization in modules such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, etc.
• Ideally has experience in Accounts & Bank Reconciliation, Auto netting functionalities.
• Ideally has developed/maintained a payment system on any ERP in which he/she has a high level of knowledge.
• Ideally has knowledge about encumbrance & pre-encumbrances terminologies.
• Ideally has experience in Accounts Receivables & MIS reporting for A/R.
• Ideally has experience in year-end processing / finalizing the financial statements of a public sector organization or private company.
• Participated in sales proposals and estimation activities.
• Ability to look at things from the end user's perspective
• Strong understanding of standards and best practices.
• Strong problem solving/analysis skills.
• Demonstrates initiative and desire to innovate.
• Assertive, confident and persuasive.

ADDITIONAL:

• Potential for limited travel over the course of the project.
