Job Description Senior Financial Analyst

Position Description
CGI is looking for a Senior-level Financial Specialist with 3-5 years of applicable experience with an Accounting or Finance degree to join our team. Qualified candidates will need to possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, good oral and written skills, and attention to detail. Candidates should have a good understanding of forecasting, budgeting, and operational/financial accounting concepts (GAAP). Candidates in this role will be expected to work closely with other finance members, Project Managers and other senior members of CGI leadership. They will also be actively encouraged to develop their skills and knowledge through both internal and external professional development to enable them to progress their career within CGI. Your future duties and responsibilities
1. Providing timely and accurate financial analytical support and information to the select CGI business unit both as regularly scheduled and in response to ad hoc requests
2. Responsibility for full month end close process: revenue recognition, preparation of Journal Entries (revenue and expenses), and GL review. Ensuring all accounting entries are booked in accordance with IFRS and CGI Accounting Policies
3. Performing detailed reporting and analyses of monthly financial information to include revenue and cost variances and trend analysis. Ability to effectively communicate summarized financial information to Directors and VPs on the business teams.
4. Need to be able to work independently, excel at working with others, and have potential to grow to manage a team
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Approaches work with enthusiasm and persistence, positively reacts to new situations, and stays positive under pressure.
6. Ability to proactively propose creative ideas and solutions that will improve the organization, including questioning existing processes, continuously look for improvement, and proposing solutions.
7. Supporting project reviews, as well as ongoing audits with accurate financial data and value added financial analysis
8. Working closely with Project Managers and sector VP in monthly forecasting, annual budget process and analyzing variances to previous forecast and budget



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Bachelor’s degree, 5 years’ experience in Finance/Accounting, Excel proficiency, GAAP, CAS, revenue recognition, and Sarbanes Oxley compliance. CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.

Desired
CPA candidate, PSA and Hyperion experience.
