Position Description

CGI is seeking a Senior .Net Developer with strong experience in Design / Development of VB, .NET technology work, to become a part of a dynamic team located in Windsor, Connecticut! This is an exciting opportunity to augment your current skills, as well as, learn new technologies.

Your future duties and responsibilities
8+ years IT experience with at least 5+ years experience with the following:
1. Design / Development of VB, .NET technology work
2. Experience in both desktop and web based applications
3. VB to .NET migration using automated tools, other process
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
1. Applications currently in VB6 platform has to be migrated to .Net newer technologies.
2. Understanding the current screen functionality and coming up with better design in newer version.
3. Solid in technology. Will play a key designer role in the team.
4. Exposure and Experience in any third party control tool for Grids and Reports.
5. Familiarity with word object model.
6. Coding, unit testing and supporting different phases of testing.
7. Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with application quality, coding, UI and Corporate standards
8. Responsible for production implementation and support activities.
9. Coordinating with offshore and responsible for status updates, get the work delivered as per agreed timelines
10. Good communication skills. Team Oriented and can work independently.
11. Good written and oral communication skills. Documenting the design specs, unit test results etc.
12. Agile and SDLC experience – at least 2+ years
13. Forward thinking, independent, creative, self-sufficient and go-getter; who can work with less documentation.
