Position Description
CGI is looking for a Senior SQL/ETL Developer to join our team in Nashville, TN for a Healthcare Client of ours, someone who works well in a fast-paced healthcare environment/setting. You will be responsible for writing SQL code to extract data from databases and ingest the data into a Data Lake environment. A working knowledge of Teradata and other Big Data resources is preferred.

On the functional side, you should have worked with Healthcare data in your past projects or have deep knowledge of the key data fields and processes. You will be required to perform custom application development, data and application integration for the Health Plan's information systems, and to devise and design technical requirements and estimate effort. You will be responsible for documentation of well-defined methods, procedures, programs and configurations in the delivery of application services.

You MUST have a good working knowledge of SQL Server and ETL. SSIS should be on your resume already. This role will be a backend developer that integrates data across several applications. These will be custom and vendor managed applications with a mix of 80% vendor and 20% custom applications. You must be able to pull data from the vendor application and then get it successfully into the target application with a high measure of data integrity. This is a true back end developer role! T-SQL and SSIS are crucial tools in your toolbox.



Your future duties and responsibilities
• Develop complex SQL queries with SQL Server and Teradata.

• Build automated processes for data extraction

• Implements design principles to be used in each development assignment

• Prepares design specifications, implements any required data mapping, including documenting and revising user test plans

• Ensure adherence to best practices and standards

• Defines, documents and designs technical requirements for custom applications, integrations, and processes

• Estimates time to complete team level assignments breaking down user stories/requirements into actionable tasks

• Accurately communicates status on individual assignments and prioritize to complete on schedule

• Contributes details to the overall plan within your scope of experience and skills

• Agile execution experience is a definite plus.

• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2013/2015/2017

• Demonstrated history of strong communication and collaboration abilities in a highly matrixed environment.

• Strong Planning abilities - demonstrated history of setting milestone dates for a group of project tasks and ensuring their completion.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Broad Infrastructure knowledge

• Ability to work as part of a high performance team in a fast paced environment.

• Demonstrated solid knowledge of systems development life cycle; particularly in contemporary requirements elicitation, analysis, traceability & verification.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Educational Requirement

Eight (8) years of experience as a software developer or software engineer including two (2) years of database design and programming and three (3) plus years of experience with Microsoft tool set
