Position Details Job order - J1017-0328 - Permanent Full Time Title Snr Java/Cloud Architect Category Architecture City Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Job Description Snr Java/Cloud Architect Position Description CGI in Atlantic Canada are looking for high performing Senior Cloud Native Architects to work as part of a team delivering complex solutions to large global technology organizations across the globe. Your future duties and responsibilities You will work on highly visible transformation projects for some of the world’s largest enterprises. As a Cloud Native Architect, you will be: •Actively participate in DOJOs •Implementing Cloud Foundry in VSphere infrastructure, AWS, Azure or GCP IaaS •Helping customers integrate Cloud Foundry with their existing logging and monitoring solutions •Help customers create or integrate with existing CI/CD pipeline •To manage existing cloud foundry installations and help scale them for production environment •Help customers choose the right applications for cloud conversion. •Help customers create a platform/application level scaffolding for migrating multiple applications to cloud •Help customers with migrating legacy applications to cloud •Pair with customers’ architects/developers to impart the skills they need to be successful in their long term digital transformation efforts •You will work on highly visible transformation projects for some of the world’s largest enterprises. •You will be part of technical decision making meetings with Senior level managements of customers including SVPs, VPs and CEO/CTOs. •You will also be involved in pre-sales meetings with potential clients/customers. Required qualifications to be successful in this role 10 + years IT experience •customer focused, hands-on technical expert with ability to talk to leadership •enable customers to build a new class of digital applications as they transform their business. •Experience and knowledge of domain driven design and microservices architecture •Be a subject matter to propose or influence architecture/solution •The position is hands on and you will be required to work with customers’ developers, architects and technical management •Experience with private and public cloud platforms and providers, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure •Travel required Skills •Experience with private and public clouds •Pivotal Cloud Foundry and BOSH experience is a plus •JAVA, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Services (SCS), .Net framework/core •CI/CD – Jenkins, Concourse •Agile development Soft Skills •Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure •Be able to learn fast and work through the leading edge technology quirks •Excellent verbal and written communication skills •Be able to propose/present/influence architectural design ideas to executives and technical management •Ability to see and present 'the big picture' and offer solutions to make it better •Good time management and organizational skills Optional •Ruby/Rails, Go, messaging (RabbitMQ/AMQP, JMS), RDBMS, Redis •Open-source contributor Build your career with us.
