Position Description
CGI currently has a requirement for a Software Architect (SOA) for an exciting opportunity in the Ottawa area. The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:


Your future duties and responsibilities
• Working closely with the client's Business Intake Manager to develop and operate the
interoperability platform.
• Provide technical guidance on the large scale deployment of our client's Interoperability enterprise initiative and participate in development of interoperability components by supporting the platform at every stage of the software development and release cycle.
• Establish and maintain a collaborative and shared interoperability environment that will:
o Fully define the technical interoperability platform and its model of operations;
o Provide guidance to departments on how to engage with the interoperability initiative and
become a valued partner;
o Support our client's Interoperability Development team by providing ongoing support to the
GCIP;
o Automate deployment from multiple staging environments.
• Establish best practices for establishing an interoperable platform such as the use of modern
deployment techniques like containers and the use of alternate software solutions.
• Contribute to the development of standards and policy instruments that will help establish the GCIP as the one view of the truth for operational data.
• Help develop the building blocks of the Interoperability strategy and technical artifacts, as
described below and as directed by the GCIP’s employees.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 10 years as Application/Software Architect
• 7 years as SOA Developer / Architect (Service Oriented Architecture)
• 3 years within last 5 working in a DevOps environment
• Have a valid Oracle SOA/BPM certification
• Lead Application/Software Architect on SAP-PeopleSoft integration projects using SOA
• architecting and developing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) using four (4) or more of the following standards – 3 projects (WSDL, SOAP, XML, HTTP/HTTPS, XSLT/XQuery, WS-Security, JSON, RESTful)
• Designing, developing and testing solutions involved in Oracle Middleware Architecture (11g or higher) using JDeveloper or Eclipse IDE – 3 projects
• Integrating Oracle SOA Middleware technology components with PeopleSoft and SAP applications
• Designing, developing and maintaining solutions that make use of at least two (2) of the following components involved in Oracle Middleware Architecture (11g or higher): Orchestration (BPEL), ESB, OSB, BAM, BPM
• Designing JMS-based messaging frameworks in support of an Enterprise Service Bus implementation
• Using, and configuring Atlassian products, JIRA and Confluence to support Agile Scrum dev/ops teams
• Experience with projects that use the Agile Scrum development methodology
• Experience designing and configuring test automations using ParaSoft SOATest or SOAPUI
• SCRUM certification within the last five (5) years
