Position Details Job order - J0617-0808 - Permanent Full Time Title Solaris Administrator/Sun Systems Engineer Category Software Development/ Engineering City Windsor, Connecticut, United States Job Description Solaris Administrator/Sun Systems Engineer Position Description CGI is looking for a Solaris Administrator/Sun Systems Engineer to join our team in Windsor, CT for a Healthcare Client of ours. • Provides engineering leadership and oversight on design, engineering and development of information technology solutions. Responsible for the most complex, multi-site, multi domain activities and integration. • Manages the troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure compatibility issues based on system architecture, project requirements, and customer expectations. Partners with IT leadership on engineering related issues and strategies. • May manage infrastructure engineers on a project basis. Your future duties and responsibilities • Solaris/Sun system Engineer/ administrator who provides implementation and support of IT solutions. Manages troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure operational issues including break/fix, backup/recover, and performance. Strong understanding/ hands-on with the following specific technologies: o Solaris operating system – ver 9 and 10 o Sun/Oracle hardware - Intel, SPARC and CMT T-Series o Virtualization with local zones and LDOMs o Filesystem management with ZFS o Backup and recovery DR/DCT including Legato • Demonstration of the following professional IT skills: o Excellent written and verbal communication o Off hours production support o Change management • Excellent analytical, problem solving and performance tuning abilities. • Strong communication and customer support skills. Other experience that would be a plus: • Sun Cluster • Veritas Volume Management • VCS or other clustering • Linux/Redhat • Avamar and/or DataDomain, Legato backup products • SAN storage (HDS, SVC, EMC), including replication • Networking, VLAN tagging, Load balancing. Required qualifications to be successful in this role Educational Requirement: Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline Development and Production Support; Strong Analytical and Problem Solving Skills Sun Cluster, Veritas Volume Management, VCS or other clustering, Linux/Redhat will be a plus Build your career with us.
