Job Description Systems Administrator III

Position Description
CGI is looking for Systems Administrator to join our Federal Business Unit who support our Security, Administrative, Judicial, and Enforcement Programs Team. This position is to provide application systems analysis to support the building of a modern Web-based automated system as part of a team using Agile Scrum methodologies. The System Administrator will be responsible for supervision and management of the daily activities for configuration and operation of systems (Web based, client/server and AWS cloud based solution).


Your future duties and responsibilities
• Plan and monitor the optimizing of system operation and resource utilization, and perform systems capacity analysis and planning.
• Plan and monitor assistance to users in accessing and using business systems. Commensurate experience and education.
• Provide 24x7 proactive monitoring, management, and issue resolution to all production and non-production environments.
• As equipment and software become obsolete recommend upgrades, updates, and patches to the system to incorporate new hardware technology and software as it becomes available in the market place.
• Account for annual updates to the system functionality to reflect changes in security compliance, grant compliance, forms, procedures, policy or legislation.
• Keep abreast of advances in the application's technology stack that will allow for user growth and increased efficiency.
• Support electronic software licensing services including deployment, management, tracking, upgrading, and upgrade planning.
• Perform review and assessment of enterprise architecture changes and report impact to operations.
• Adapt the infrastructure software to expiring and/or technology changes in the environment (i.e., third-party plug-ins, SQL upgrades, Microsoft OS/.Net upgrades, JAVA, etc.).
• Plan and provide the current server sizing requirements and growth trend for the future application system.
• Perform storage capacity management and identity the amount of storage needed.
• Maintaining communication with development teams, technical leads and product owners.
• Tracking user stories and tasks in the Scrum agile workflow system (JIRA).



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 3 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
• Certified as an AWS DevOps Engineer.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to engage with clients and work with multiple development teams.
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
• Detailed-oriented with proven time management and organization skills, with a demonstrated ability to achieve results.

Knowledge of the following software platforms and technologies:
Java (J2EE)
JSP Template
JavaScript/AJAX
Spring (MVC, Web Services, Security, Batch)
SQL, Hibernate
Maven/Gradel
Jenkins
Experience in Federal or Legislative branch system application development lifecycle (SDLC) is a plus
