Position Description
This is a great opportunity to become an employee of CGI, based in Edmonton, to provide leading information technology services to our clients. We are seeking a Systems Analysts who has a minimum of 2 years of IT experience.

This position is expected to have had experience in one or more of the following technologies (TOAD 9.0+, ColdFusion (11), SQL Server (2012), Visual Studio (2010), ASP.net/MVC, Javascript/jQuery, Transact SQL, SQL Server Management Studio (2012), SSRS, SSAS, or SSIS).



Your future duties and responsibilities
As part of the team, the candidates will be charged with working on development and maintenance service requests delivering the highest of quality.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Following defined processes in the delivery of all application maintenance activities, i.e. Enhancements, corrective changes, environmental changes.
• Working closely with key clients to understand business requirements and manage priorities.
• Ensuring that technical solutions meet business objectives.
• Providing accurate estimates, applying changes, performing effective testing, and deploying solutions.
• Proactively managing incidents and appropriately escalating issues.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
The successful candidate must have the following skills and knowledge:

• 2+ years related IT experience preferably in an application maintenance service setting.
• Experience in application development and or maintenance.
• Desirable to have experience in one or more of the following technologies: (TOAD 9.0+, ColdFusion (11), SQL Server (2012), Visual Studio (2010), ASP.net/MVC, Javascript/jQuery, Transact SQL, SSRS, SSIS or SSAS).
• Thoroughly versed in the software development life cycle, particularly as it relates to promotion and deployment of routine fixes and major releases into a production environment
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to work in a team setting.
• Ability to clearly and concisely articulate issues, approaches and solutions.
• Demonstrated agility, flexibility and innovation in an environment where priorities and tasks are changing rapidly.

It would be desirable if the successful candidate had the following skills and knowledge:

• ITIL Foundation certification
• Maintenance or development experience in a Business Intelligence environment

The ideal candidate should possess a university degree or college diploma in a related discipline (Computer Science, Business or Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
